When the sun is out and the weather is perfect for at least a few months out of the year, it’s time to eat, drink and be merry. We’ve compiled a list of some of this season’s best food and drink festivals all around the nation (and few international ones) for you to choose from.

Food & Wine Festival – Aspen, Colorado June 19-21

This is purely a grown folks party. There is endless food and drinks to last for days against the backdrop of beautiful, natural Aspen. Tickets are selling out fast.

Taste of Chicago – Chicago, Illinois – July 8-12

Now in it’s 35th year, this five-day food festival is guaranteed to add 10 pounds and a few inches on your waistline. Festival-goers are in for a treat this year with world-class talent and performances like Erykah Badu and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. More than 200 food vendors from all over Chicago, sharing flavors from all over the globe. Admission is free. Concert lawn space is free.

Bite of Seattle – Seattle, Washington – July 17-19

This event is indeed a multifaceted event and includes entertainment, food tips, classes, conscious consuming culture, wine tasting and more. This year, consumers and restaurants will participate in helping to end hunger in Western Washington. When consumers purchase $10 tickets to taste from seven different restaurants, a portion of the proceeds will go toward the cause.

Good Food & Wine Show – Sydney, Australia – August 7-9

Iconic chefs and foodies from all over the world come together across three cities across the continent (the festival actually takes place on four different dates in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane) to teach cooking courses, create luscious delights and drink. It’ll be a blast.

San Fran Street FoodSan Francisco Street Food Festival – San Francisco, California – August 15-16

Northern California is all about the culture, good vibes and good food. The Bay Area will be celebrating food all summer long but will set aside a special couple of days for visitors, travelers and locals to experience all the deliciousness SanFran has to offer right at Pier 70. Tickets range from $30-$250.

Hantam Meat Festival – Calvinia, South Africa – August 29-30

If you’re up for some adventure, this is the festival you want to go to in South Africa. It’s literally off the beaten path and we are led to believe that there are very few English speakers in this area. But rumor has it, the food is heavenly and meaty, if you’re into that kind of thing. So if you happen to be in South Africa this season, be sure to take a little trip up into the mountains and get to know some local culture. More info here.

Bet you didn’t know that Buffalo, NY is indeed the birthplace of the original buffalo wing. Can you imagine, the perfect piece of chicken prepared in endless unique sauces? No. Well, you won’t have to. A field of America’s perfect bite sized morsel of chicken will beckon your tastebuds for a two-day wings buffet. Toronto’s Vegetarian Food Festival – Toronto, Canada – September 11-13

First Sometimes the vegetarians get left out and miss out on all the fun. Not this time. Vegans, health-nuts and veggie munchers can gather in harmony for some good food and great fun. And if you’re new to the whole vegetarian thing, this is a great way to expose your tastebuds to the wide world of veg-friendly food options. Delish. Admission is free.

music city eatsMusic City Eats – Nashville, Tennessee – September 19-20

First of all, anything Nashville may have to be considered pretty perfect. Tennessee BBQ, music, whiskey… the list can go on forever. But one thing you’ll have to indulge in this year is this two-day food festival packed with entertainment, meet and greets with famous chefs like Clara Hall and Marcus Samuelsson, food demonstrations and more. It’s worth the experience.

Expo – Milan, Italy – May 1-October 31

It’s not exactly only a food festival, but it is a 6-month exhibition of something pretty amazing in Italy. Consumers, travelers, locals and more are gathering throughout this season to enjoy culture, food, wine and entertainment at one of the most elaborate events of the world. In the food exhibition area, there are more than 150 restaurants, kiosks and vendors to choose from with at least 140 participating countries throughout the event. This is a big one! So plan it out well.
